Judge OKs Sale of 52 Gas City Stations

FRANKFORT, Ill. — The sale of Gas City Ltd., the bankrupt Chicago-area gas station chain owned by William McEnery, is scheduled for early March, Crain’s Chicago Business reported today. Bids are due February 22 for the 51 stations operated by the Frankfort, Ill.-based company and an auction is scheduled for March 2, according to an order issued by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Eugene Wedoff.
Bids will be accepted for part or all of the stations, many of which are in the south suburbs of Chicago but some of which are in northwest Indiana, Arizona and Florida.
